John Devaney – In Memoriam

On August 31, 2024, John Devaney passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Edmonton, John was an accomplished athlete and developed lifelong friendships along the way through hockey, golf, baseball and the many other activities that he enjoyed. Whether as a player, Golden Bear, Olympian or coach, John always exemplified hard work, commitment, determination and leadership. After his hockey career, John went on to become a successful accountant, partnering with former colleagues to found Pennock Acheson Nielsen Devaney (PAND).  But above all else, John was a dedicated family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother with a quick wit and some great one-liners. He has touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
